3 AI video examples: Making marketing magic with AI video generators

Unless you have been living under a rock during the past few years, you may have noticed that AI has been on everyone’s lips for a while now.

But how do you and your business take advantage of the opportunities that come with AI? Let’s dive into one of the many tasks AI can help you with – producing videos.

As you already know, videos are a must on social media because of their ability to engage your audience (if you want to know more about video marketing, read along here).

But it takes time to produce videos, and it seems easier to just not do it. Luckily, the rapid technological development has given us a bunch of AI video generators that can help you speed up your content creation and make marketing magic. The key is to know how to use them.

What can you use AI videos for?

AI video generation is revolutionizing content creation as we speak (or write), because it is accessible for everyone and not just for technical or creative specialists with editing skills. There are several ways to use AI video generators to your benefit, depending on your needs.

For one, you can enhance your marketing efforts by generating videos that tap directly into your audience’s preferences, and so much faster than if you would have to prepare, shoot and edit the video yourself. In addition, you can easily make variations of the same video, by changing voiceovers or visuals that speak to different target groups.

Secondly, you can save time looking for the perfect stock footage and instead create your own short cutaway clips that you can combine with your own video. Alternatively, you can also create entire high-quality videos by combining short clips into one video.

How do AI video generators work?

AI video generators use machine learning algorithms to create videos in a matter of seconds, saving precious time in a busy workday. No wonder it has become so popular!
Most of them offer text-to-video and/or image-to-video. That means you can either type what you want your video to look like or upload an image that you wish to turn into a video. It is as simple as that. While the generators are not perfect, they can still help you go a long way when you know how to do it.

Some generators are free with a limited number of credits for video and image generation, while longer formats and shorter wait times may require a paid subscription. Most of them can be used with a login on either a web browser or Discord, so it is easy to get started.

3 potential AI video generators to give a try

We have conducted a small test of three selected AI video generators with the same text-to-video prompt, so you can see what kind of results they can give you.

Prompt: a drone shot of a city with skyscrapers on a sunny day

Here are a few of the AI video generators to look out for and the results of our prompt:

#1 Pixverse

Pixverse offers text-to-video, image-to-video and character-to-video. You can use Pixverse in a browser, or you can log in to Discord to use Pixverse, so you can start generating videos.

If you start by using text-to-video, you can simply:

  1. Describe what you want
  2. Choose a style and aspect ratio
  3. Hit the “create”-button
  4. Wait for the magic to happen

It’s also possible to add a negative prompt to instruct the AI model to leave out certain elements in the video. If you like the video, you can click on “Upscale” to improve the quality of the video. If you use image-to-video, use the “Magic Brush” tool to mark the areas you wish to add motion to and watch your image come to life.

Pixverse can be used free of charge, but if you wish to remove watermarks and get faster generation, you need to subscribe.

#2 Runway

Of the three tools, we have tested, Runway is the most complete AI video tool, allowing you to create and edit videos and images on the same platform.

There are plenty of settings to dive into, which might be confusing the first couple of times. But once you know how to use it, the quality of the videos increases and so does your productivity.

Just like with Pixverse, you can type a prompt or add an image to start generating the video you want. It is also possible to add settings for:

  • Camera motion
  • Style of the video
  • Motion brush (relevant if you use an image for creating a video)
  • Aspect ratio

Runway also offers you small tips on how to specify what you want. For instance, Tip: Try using camera-specific terms: camera angles (full shot, close-up, etc.).

You can get started for free, but you need to subscribe to generate longer videos and remove watermarks.

#3 Genmo

Genmo can be used in a browser or on Discord, but either way, you need a login. Just like Pixverse and Runway, you can type in your prompt to generate a video. As a beginner in AI video generation, Genmo is a good place to start, as it is user-friendly and easy to navigate.

There are fewer tools available in Genmo, compared to Runway, but you can still choose settings regarding aspect, duration and camera motions and such. Once you have created a video, you can adjust it and review it before exporting it.

If you are struggling to use Genmo, or need creative input, it can be helpful to use the Genmo community through their Discord channel where users can share their ideas or ask for advice from each other.

Genmo is free, and you can create up to 6 seconds of video at a time.

That’s a wrap!

As the AI video generators only create short video clips, you will have to combine them yourself to create longer formats.

When you have downloaded the clips, you can combine them, add voiceovers and music in a different program such as Premiere Pro. If you are using Runway, you can use their editor program, so you don’t have to download the separate clips to merge them.

Remember, practice makes perfect. So do not despair if your first few videos have people with strange-looking eyes or hands. Making quite specific prompts for your videos often leads to better videos. So, get out there and start making marketing magic!

P.S.
Even with a bunch of AI video tools already out there, some of the biggest players in tech are teasing their own AI video generators, which are expected to launch somewhere in the near future. We can’t wait!
